National Talent Search Examination(NTSE) is conducted every year by CBSE to identify the meritorious students to grant them scholarships for their further higher studies. Exam Pattern
NTSE is a two tier examination process tier1 known as MAT(Mental Ability test) and tier2 known as SAT(Scholastic Ability Test). Both exams are conducted offline where students have to address the questions with the help of paper and pencil.
The first stage is operated by States / UT. They are authorized to decide the test medium for stage one examination. In the second stage you are allowed to choose the language according to your spoken language. In the middle of the application form students are provided with a booklet of language they choose. Languages Assamese, Bangali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu are provided in application form. There is no negative marking in the examination.

It is most important for students to analyze the syllabus properly. Students are advised to go through the syllabus and mark down the weightage of the topics from each subject before starting preparing for the NTSE examination. NTSE is conducted for those students who are studying in class 10. Strong your fundamentals with reference books i.e. NCERT. Applicants can cover their entire syllabus with NCERT. The main objective of conducting this examination is to identify the problem solving ability of the student in different situations.
As paper 1 is qualifying round you prepare this section with previous year papers but for paper 2 you refer to NCERT for better understanding of the concepts. Prefer NCERT solutions for class 10 if you find any difficulty in understanding the concepts.
